Our First Brew Review!

Woot Woot!  Today is the premiere brew post.  I am setting proper expectations up front.  I enjoy beer but I'm not a beer nerd nor am I a connoisseur.  My qualifications are I'm pretty baller and I enjoy trying beers.  Based on the millions of others on the internet using Twitter, FaceBook, Google+, Reddit, Orkut, etc... I don't see how I need any more qualification than that nor do I truly care.  If you land here on this page you have also declared your lack of caring.  Now that we've moved past formalities I'd like to introduce your lady of the hour.

Today we have Happy Camper IPA.  This delectable IPA surprised me.  I tend to shy away from IPA's.  I prefer a brew that is less hoppy than most IPA's register at.  In this case novelty won out.  Sometimes I choose beers like wine, based on label and name and this was one of those times.  Good job marketing department at Sante Fe Brewing.

Side note, pardon the less than stellar photograph of my can.  This was a mobile phone camera shot taken in haste.  Back to business, the Happy Camper IPA jousted with my prejudice palette and won with a dominant showing.  A victory like this hadn't been seen since Three 6 Mafia beat out Dolly Parton for an Oscar in 2006.  Upon completion I experienced a brief moment of sadness that this was the only can purchased as part of a pick six.  Like a great booty call it kept me wanting to come back for more.

If you were looking for a more formal review I don't want to disappoint.  Here is the rundown from Beer Advocate.  The site appears to align with my personal views regarding Happy Camper IPA.

In my search for a TV or internet ad I stumbled upon this gem of a personal review.  I probably shouldn't poke fun since ProfessorSudz is committed to the sharing of knowledge, something this world lacks at times.  He is very thorough and hits all the key factors a true beer nerd utilizes in their beer purchase decision tree.  However, his delivery makes me feel like I'm back in 8th grade science class with Mr. Fish.  Unless you went to Middle School with me that reference is pointless so just watch the video.  Without further ado I present to you the Happy Camper IPA review by ProfessorSudz, big on knowledge, flat on delivery.
